Caldwell Celebrates 1000 Days of Safety in Two of its Manufacturing Plants

Rochester, NY — May 5, 2010 — Caldwell Manufacturing Company North America, LLC is continuing to build on its goal of being the preferred provider of lift assist, operation assist, and product movement hardware and related services to the fenestration industry. In order to achieve this goal, Caldwell has spent a great deal of time, energy and other resources on health, safety and environmental issues.

Caldwell’s first priority has always been to provide a safe work environment. In April 2010, two of Caldwell’s manufacturing facilities (Williamsport, MD and Alachua, FL) celebrated a safety milestone of operating 1000 days without a lost-time accident. The number of days without accidents equates to more than 500,000 safe work hours.

CEO Eric Mertz congratulated employees for achieving the milestone stating, “I have no greater responsibility than the safety of our employees and I can’t begin to express how proud I am to be associated with the people who have achieved this milestone…We must, and will continue the same commitment to safety in the next 1000 day milestone.” Vice President of Manufacturing, Kevin Novak, went on to say, “It is hard to put into words how much I appreciate the work and dedication put forth by both teams to accomplish this milestone. It is very gratifying to me to know that our employees can maintain such a high level of commitment while providing great customer service.”

In recognition of this safety accomplishment, the employees of both facilities received celebratory lunches.
